A Guide to the SkyPoint Climb

Climbers on the SkyPoint platform high above the Gold Coast

Soaring above the Gold Coast, the SkyPoint Climb is perched atop the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise. Harness up and step into the open air 270 metres above sea level for spectacular views. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or simply want a new perspective of the city, this guide explains everything you need for a memorable experience.

What Is the SkyPoint Climb?

SkyPoint Climb is Australia's highest external building walk. From level 77 of the Q1, climbers follow an open-air walkway to a crow's nest at the top. Secured by a full-body harness and led by expert guides, the climb offers uninterrupted 360-degree views from Brisbane to Byron Bay.

The Climb Experience: Step by Step

Arrival and Preparation

Your adventure begins at Mission Control, where staff provide a safety briefing and help you gear up in a climb suit and harness. Personal items are stored securely, and glasses are tethered so you can enjoy the views worry-free.

The Ascent

A swift elevator ride takes you to level 77. From a glass airlock, you step outside 240 metres above street level. Attached to a safety rail system, you climb another 30 metres of stairs to the peak, with guides pointing out landmarks along the way.

At the Summit

The crowning moment is reaching the summit platform. Pause to soak up the breathtaking scenery, pose for professional photos and, if you're feeling brave, lean back over the edge for an extra thrill.

What Makes It Special?

Open-Air Adventure

Unlike enclosed observation decks, this climb is completely outdoors. Feel the breeze and hear the city below as you admire unobstructed views in every direction.

Expert Guides

Knowledgeable guides keep you safe and engaged, sharing stories about the Gold Coast and encouraging nervous climbers along the way.

Suitable for Most Fitness Levels

The climb is accessible to anyone with moderate fitness. The stairs rise between 30 and 60 degrees and the pace is steady with plenty of stops for photos.
